Radiation heating is when rays of heat quickly heat people, surfaces and objects within a room, creating an even heat. Convection heating draws cold air in to the stove or fire and heats it up in a gap and releases it out the top of the stove. Heat rises so therefore the top of the room will heat quicker. Because of the air gap convection stoves can usually be placed closer to combustible and flammable materials.
